Easy baking Brownie recipe

Baking is a great way to relieve stress and give your sweet tooth a fix. And despite what you may think, it can be super simple too! Here’s my go-to recipe for baking something that I want to be quick, easy and still delicious – chocolate brownies.

I have the prices of each ingredient listed below, but for what you purchase you will be able to make these brownies at least two or three times again. All of the ingredients are relatively cheap, and you can keep them in your cupboard to reuse again and again as they will last you a while!

1 cup sugar – 54p

1/2 cup plain flour – 45p

1/3 cup cocoa – £1.49

1/4 teaspoon salt – 40p

1/4 teaspoon baking powder – 69p

2 eggs – 89p for 6

1/2 cup oil (I use coconut oil) – £2.16

1 teaspoon vanilla extract – £1

Chocolate of your choice (I think either white chocolate or pieces of Galaxy caramel are best). £1

Pre-heat your oven to 180º C or gas mark 4.

Get a deep baking dish or tray and line it with greaseproof paper.

In a large bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients: the sugar, flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder.

Then add the two eggs, oil and vanilla and mix together using a fork. The mixture should look thick and smooth, with no lumps of flour in it.

Cut up or break up your chocolate and add it to the mixture, mix these pieces in until they are coated with the brownie mix.

Pour this into your baking dish or tray – try to not have your chocolate pieces poking out of the top of the mix as these will burn in the oven.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, until you can stick a fork in and it comes out clean.

Cut them up into your desired size pieces and enjoy!
